The main question will now probably be "do developers using this new Epic store still need an Apple Dev membership?". If they do (seems pretty like in the short term), that would mean they still need to sign the Apple agreements. That'll bind them to giving Apple a cut. So, paying two masters. Sounds like a bad deal for most, with the exception being stuff that Apple wouldn't allow in their store anyway.
