Since I started commuting by bike, I really thought that it would never work without flat roads. The value is in keeping kinetic energy as long as possible. Outside of flattened path in the wild it quickly becomes a burden. Today i could ride a primitive wooden wheel bike.

- Closi 3y agoAssume it’s different riding a modern bike with good bearings, brakes, spokes and inflated tires to a wooden-wheel peg bike.
- agumonkey 3y agoyes that's what i tried to mean, if you were a carpenter in the middle ages and assembled a bike like device, you'd be cooked at the first dirt road on a hill (people may even ostracize you for trying crazy non holy things like this)
