The interview was interesting, while seeming pretty incoherent to me (A.Charmeau mentionning they're on the market and do launches for other agencies while bitching about guaranteed launch numbers being a restriction was weird to me) Checking other interviews[0], it seems that Airbus (Charmeau's other baby) is doing a ton of research on the side and is pushing a more commercial angle. All in all, it sounds like he's more invested in Airbus becoming a SpaceX competitor than Ariane becoming a stronger commercial entity...but I'm also way out of my depth and don't know that much about the guy.
