I don't know why they are referring to this as a "nurse." Sure there are some nurses like NP's that can give medical advice. Most nurses in a hospital setting are hands on and in-person interacting with patients implementing care as prescribed by MD's. A video call on a tablet is not going to replace that.
I could see this replacing tele visits. Of course, what happens when this AI reads a Summary of Benefits and Coverage document from an insurer and can only respond with "unfortunately your plan does not allow me to..."
- dumbo-octopus 3y agoRight? I have friends who are nurses, sitting at home and taking video calls regarding the delivery of medical advice is almost precisely the polar opposite of what they do. In many cases they're even legally prohibited from doing so!
- prepend 3y agoI think because they would replace nurse lines that are currently staffed by nurses. Or at least be a level1 support or something. $9/hour seems kind of high for this though.
