That all sounds great, until you meed someone who cannot communicate over phone at all. I've worked with people who simply ignore emails and don't respond for multiple days. I've worked with people who only respond to the first question in the email, and ignore other questions. I've worked with people who were unable to follow instructions if overall email length was longer than 2 paragraphs. .. in all those cases, it was so much fast to call people. Requires more effort, but latency was so much lower.
