- joshxyz 3y agodoes this factor in the quality of food and exercise ? intermittent fasting done in a reckless way cant save people
- jsperx 3y agoSeems not…the AHA article quotes a Stanford PhD: “One of those details involves the nutrient quality of the diets typical of the different subsets of participants. Without this information, it cannot be determined if nutrient density might be an alternate explanation to the findings that currently focus on the window of time for eating. Second, it needs to be emphasized that categorization into the different windows of time-restricted eating was determined on the basis of just two days of dietary intake[.]”

- chewbacha 3y agoNot sure this is very causative. The study seems like it spanned up to 17 years and required self reported diet details. There is little isolation in such a study and there’s no word on when/how long people kept this diet. I’m a little skeptical.
- wakawaka28 3y agoBrought to you by Ozempic? Seriously though, this seems like it is very susceptible to hidden variable errors.
- xz18r 3y agoI cannot read the article, but in another thread people pointed out the cause and effect problem: obese people are more likely to do intermittent fasting, and are more susceptible to cardiovascular diseases.

- smitty1e 3y agoMaybe for some, but fasting is mostly a positive experience for me. Lack of blood sugar means feeling colder. Boo hoo.
