I'm still waiting for nootkatone products to take off after reading about it in The Ultimate Hang back around 2011. "The active ingredient, nootkatone, is found in Alaska yellow cedar trees (also known as the Nootka cypress), some herbs, and citrus fruits. Biologists in CDC's Division of Vector-Borne Diseases have found nootkatone to be an effective repellent and insecticide for use against ticks and mosquitoes." It's super effective and completely natural without any drawbacks, but apparently hard to synthesize on a commercial scale.
