You might be interested in Adobe’s “Content Credentials” [1] which seemingly aim to clarify exactly what processing has applied to an image. I don’t like the idea of Adobe being the gatekeepers of image-fidelity-verification but the idea is intriguing and it seems like we’ll need something like this (that camera makers sign onto) to deal with AI. EDIT: I think these should also include whatever built-in processing is applied to the raw sensor data within the camera itself.
