Lossless Audio Does Not Sound Better Than MP3
- snide 3y agoI love to bring up this glossary whenever I see a post about sound subcultures. I'll admit that I have bought a variety of nice headphones over the years. I also admit that any group that needs a glossary this "muddy" for how to describe things is likely a little lost in itself. - daviddever23box 3y agoWhile this article does seem a bit clickbait-y, it's worth pointing out that lossy perceptual audio coding has been getting better; research in this area continues specifically BECAUSE there is a perceptual difference, especially when using different bit rates on the same codec.
