- throwup238 3y agoIt's called fulling: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fulling https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fulling First they soak the fabric in stale urine. Then the tiny stinging hairs on the nettles acts as a natural brush to lift and separate the wool fibers.
