Who is 'them' here?
Seems like anytime I hear people use 'They', 'Them' as some broad category of some secret organization driving things. It is increasingly hard to decipher what the 'they/them' is referring to? Is it Q-anon? Deep Christian State?
'They' are doing this to 'Us'. But can never really pin it down? Every conspiracy is always shifting to a new 'They'.
- drewcoo 3y ago> Who is 'them' here? If you can't tell, you're not part of the conversation. If you're (much more likely) trying to frame the poster as some kind of conspiracy theorist . . . there's a different STFU for that one.
- blovescoffee 3y agoI feel like in this instance “them” is pretty clearly news agencies
- FrustratedMonky 3y agoYes. Addressed later From other post. Thought on re-reading OP comment, 'them' could just refer to generic 'media', and not be right/left. It shows how even language is getting warped. Frequently right leaning news uses 'They' for every type of boogie man. So if a comment has 'They' it sounds right leaning.
- geraneum 3y agoIt doesn’t really matter. It’s fluid and redefined as needed.
- RcouF1uZ4gsC 3y agoThere is no conspiratorial “them”. The pronoun just refers to the people in the news business.
