What does it mean to “invest” in Bitcoin? What are you investing in, exactly?

  The idea that whatever amount of bitcoin you buy its value will be much higher in the future.

  They are referring to buying BTC in the hopes it will go up in value. Purely a “buy for x, hope to sell for more than x” investment. Same as most folks invest in stocks.

    This is called speculation, and it differs markedly from investing.
