- justinclift 3y agoHmmm, wonder who the best possible new owner could be? There's got to be some places which would benefit from this, and move it forward + clear up the licensing issues. Amazon (AWS) might actually be a reasonable candidate for a good potential owner. -- "Worst possible" new owner would likely be Oracle, or maybe IBM.
- sausagefeet 3y agoI'm curious why someone would buy them. The license change for most of their IP is still pretty recent so the products haven't had time to differentiate themselves from the previous version. Why buy when you can just fork the existing products? Maybe you want the customer base, but if HCP is this publicly desperate, certainly if you can afford to buy them you can afford to wait for them to just slowly lose customers?
