- declaredapple 3y agoI'm not completely disagreeing. But it is one of the few "engineering fields" where many of the top performers don't have degrees or formal educations. It would be a shame to gatekeep devops engineers with leet code exams for example.
- proc0 3y agoGood point. Maybe it could be a certification test, or maybe some roles wouldn't require it, but I think standardizing software engineering would help the industry by allowing people to focus on the field for their entire lives instead of being sidetracked into management.
