Cyclomatic complexity (and the other new kind of complexity that I forget the name of) are a good way to measure code readability/reasonability. We have a few rules of thumb for JavaScript that our junior devs have absolutely railed against, but some of them are from code standards that have persisted in the industry for 20+ years, and to me at this point are somewhat standardized.
