I'm not going to even argue about which is worse or better, but what about my personal freedom to eat lab-grown meat if I want to?
Why do these few states hate freedom?
Or is it just the wrong kind of freedom?
I looks to me more like ah, "red meat for the base".
- tail_exchange 3y agoThey are just protecting the meat industry's freedom to forbid you from eating lab grown meat. Jokes aside, it's lobbying and corruption in its purest form. I cannot see any reason to ban it.
- __s 3y agoYep, but maybe it's a a case where calling for bans is to have compromise on labeling move towards more explicit labeling. Like Canada's cigarette labeling https://www.cp24.com/news/new-graphic-health-warnings-on-cigarette-packs-aim-to-help-smokers-kick-the-habit-1.6728553 https://www.cp24.com/news/new-graphic-health-warnings-on-cig... (not to say lab grown meat has the health problems of cigarettes, but I'm sure people calling for a ban would like it to be labeled as such)
- brvsft 3y agoYou’re being disingenuous. Just call them hypocrites, it’s okay. You don’t have to pretend you’re a libertarian to make that argument.
