- bruce511 3y agoI confess that I don't really have a firm prediction on the future of programming. On the one hand, the layoffs are a side effect of a hiring bubble during covid. What goes up must come down. On the other hand, AI will have an impact, but programming is (a lot) more than writing code. AI makes writing code easier, but frankly that was already the easy part. Will our industry change? Sure. Its been changing for 60 years. Have we reached peak programmer? That's a tougher question, but I'm inclined to say "no".
