We didn't even get to discussing the amount. It was a non starter. I'm sure some amount would have worked but really my main hope was to just snap them out of it and perhaps get a little reflection from them. Didn't work.
- nottorp 3y agoWere you in a parent or teacher position? Nothing those people say is good to a teenager. I know, I've been both teenager and parent. Or to put it another way, they'd rather not interact with someone who has a "right" to have an opinion on what they do and maybe even enforce it.
- swader999 3y agoParent but it's more complicated than that. They are friends of my daughter who passed 19 months ago. So there wasn't really that dynamic you describe. I genuinely feel they were able to freely consider and laugh off my idea.
