Loyalty is a spook designed to exert control over people. The only people who care about loyalty are tyrants. Loyalty is nothing but a willingness to abandon your values for certain people.
- JohnFen 3y agoAbsolutely so, in the sense that people who get concerned about "loyalty" mean when they use the word. That sort of concern is, in my opinion, a big red flag that those people should not be trusted. But there is a real kind of loyalty. The sort you have towards your friends and family. That's not the sort that requires you to abandon your values, but instead to prioritize them and support them. Even when supporting them means disagreeing with them and/or doing things they don't like.
