I'm still confused why they keep making the language specific apps, or why people use them (instead of Idea Ultimate) for that matter.
- MissTake 3y agoBecause the apps feature far greater functionality and features that the plugins do not. I use Rider, DataGrip and Writerside daily, but also IntelliJ when I’m working with Helm and database objects (which uses the DataGrip plugin) in the same project.
- stephenr 3y agocan you elaborate on the difference(s)? Looking at https://www.jetbrains.com/products/compare/?product=idea&product=datagrip https://www.jetbrains.com/products/compare/?product=idea&pro... the only listed difference is that Datagrip says "MongoJS support" in the tooltip for the weird outlined checkbox next to the "JavaScript, TypeScript" line.
