At some point though, IRC conversations seem to almost always turn into talking about IRC itself. Whether it’s bots or hostile takeovers, people stealing nicknames, moderation problems, who’s got the best client, and shit of that nature. I spent a lot time on it as a teenager, and it gets a bit old after a while. Discord is significantly better in that regard.

- nottorp 3y agoIrc is an old people thing now. And channel admin control is better. Back when irc was the thing, there were a lot of teenagers on it and in some places the atmosphere was like in a modern competitive shooter if you take out all the "this is a violent game but we pretend it's family friendly" moderation.
