I like the links on the new page and check out the new section from time to time, but in the end, I'm here for the discussion, seeing what other people think, and learning from the comments, so for me the new page isn't good as there is basically no comments there, no matter how great the links are on the new page.
- yard2010 3y agoSometimes I don't even read the article, just open the comments and see what people have to say
- ikari_pl 3y agoand that's the worst of HN often the author would prefer this discussion to be in THEIR comment section for once
- ed_elliott_asc 3y ago99% of the time I look at the comments and then if I find the discussion interesting will go to the original link. To go directly to the link, it would have to be really compelling.
- lukan 3y agoMaybe, but I prefer a fast, consistent UI to quickly read about a topic and see if it is interesting. That is super fast here, but every site has a different comment section, so I have to a)look for it b) parse the different style c) parse whether all comments are just from spambot accounts
- Thiez 3y agoThat is really their problem. Most users don't want to create separate accounts for each website they visit just to take part in a discussion.
- fragmede 3y agoSometimes?
- verticalscaler 3y agoSometimes I don't even read the comments and go straight to saying something.
- tiku 3y agoI didn't do that.
