This fee is paid by riders for their driver’s additional wait time and time/distance spend traveling to the pickup location.” I'd think the reservation would cut the cost, if anything. It gives Uber more time to find you a driver, and they can specifically ping drivers who live near you hours in advance to give them the chance to pick up a nearby passenger. I've made reservations in the past — typically morning rides to the airport — but if they charge fees this high I won't bother. It would have to be surge pricing the next morning to make it worse than these reservation fees.
