Interesting. I was recently wondering if it might be time to move away from VLC, as two frustrations seem to be persisting forever:
1) every single time I try to full-screen a video, it goes to the wrong monitor, and is therefore invisible. Only way to get it back is to shift-right click on the taskbar button, choose move, and then use the arrow key to get it visible. Or I can avoid it by dragging the window to a side monitor and then back to the main one before going full-screen, but I have to do it every time.
2) It won't play gopro 5.3k videos. Only the first second of video plays, and then it freezes. Every other player handles them fine.
Both persist through reinstalls and multiple updates, plus much messing with settings. The whole appeal of VLC used to be that unlike other players, it "just works". No longer seems to be the case, at least for me.
