That makes sense - states where firearms are more common, they're more more available and more people are interested in advocating for carry. There was nothing saying that carrying increases likelihood of suicide by firearm at the individual level. I also didn't see a mention in either the article or the linked study of the overall suicide rate for the population. A change in modality is very different from a change in rate.
