Why not just use both? The great thing about git is that you can easily coordinate multiple repositories (git push --all). The great thing about the web is you can hyperlink to different sites (link to related discussion on another forge). Source forges all send email notifications, so you can get updates in one place. The biggest problem I see is duplicate issues being raised across forge issue trackers, which using a single forge doesn't fix anyways.
