Oh man I thought this was going to be about super fast networking by somehow connecting the PCI buses of two laptops. Instead it's the opposite, tunneling the NVMe protocol through regular Ethernet. Sort of like iScsi back in the day. Yeah there are much simpler approaches. I don't bother with container images but can install a new machine from an Ansible playbook in a few minutes. I do then have to copy user files (Borg restore) but that results in a clean new install.
