Is Politico "left-leaning", because I keep finding articles ridiculing whatever "conservative" means but none critiquing "liberal", and thus the question.

- namaria 3y agoDid you read the article? I found it to be a balanced piece on cultural changes and party politics in the US. At no point it seemed to be "making fun of one side".
- bdjsiqoocwk 3y agoThat said, you could make fun of the side that blames the other side of virtue signaling, while at the same time making everything into a virtue signal. Milk, seriously?
- jjtheblunt 3y agoYeah, and i know what you mean. I realize (later) that sometimes i suspect a distinct set of biases are applied to headlines than the articles had. This could very well be the case here...balanced articles in general get biased headlines for marketing the articles, and not by the authors. Kinda interesting the more examples i find.
- jfengel 3y agoDepending on who you ask, it's either centrist or slightly left. Ad Fontes calls it "middle"; allsides places it just barely to the left of center https://adfontesmedia.com/politico-bias-and-reliability/ https://adfontesmedia.com/politico-bias-and-reliability/ https://www.allsides.com/news-source/politico-media-bias https://www.allsides.com/news-source/politico-media-bias That matches my understanding of the situation, though of course your mileage may vary.
- halJordan 3y agoThe recent article about judge-shopping is an egregious example of this. Entirely cast as something terrible which only conservatives do and liberals have been crying out against (their literal words). When in fact it's done by all political stripes and by people who are in fact apolitical and in court for apolitical reasons.
