Sometimes I feel like there should be a daily rating index of how different recommendation or search systems are doing, a sort of "sentiment index" for recommendation and search system efficacy. I was just thinking about this last night, that YouTube has seemed really off lately for me. I wish I knew if this was all coincidences or what. It reminds me a little of TikTok. I don't mean that to bash TikTok; it's obviously working for a lot of people, but for whatever reason I could never get it to be recommending anything I like. YouTube historically has been pretty good for me but the last month or so has seemed different. It's almost too narrowly focused or something.
