Snowflake, the Missing Primer
- deleted 3y ago[deleted]
- clevel 3y agoThere is some misinformation in this article. For instance, Snowflake absolutely supports transactions for most operations, DML operations always occur in a single transaction but any INSERT, UPDATE, SELECT, etc can absolutely be lumoed with other operations in a single transaction safely.
- calpaterson 3y agoSorry - this was a draft that I published accidentally while fixing a typo in another article and which someone apparently submitted it here before I could take it down. It should 404 now. Perhaps next week :)

- albert_e 3y agoA few typos: > I'll have to infer, assume and hypothesis. *hypothesize > No transactions, not indices, nearly no constraints *no indices --- Also I would be surprised if Snowflake documentation at this introductory level does not exist. there are a few levels of "certification" that Snowflake offers for professionals who are expected to understand how Snowflake works at a fairly detailed level -- and I am sure official documentation exists to cater to this group starting with a technical introduction/overview of capabilities etc.
- calpaterson 3y agoSorry - this was an early draft of a future post that somehow was submitted here. I've removed it now, thanks for proofreading :)
