What about affordable hotels with reasonable living conditions? Maybe the hotel industry needs disruption? Every hotel I've been to was incredibly wasteful.

  > What about affordable hotels with reasonable living conditions? There are plenty of places to stay for $40 a night already considering the motel market.

Then why do people use Airbnb?

I'm not sure why anymore unless you want to rent out a single family home, many places ask for north of $200 a night now. It hasn't been the cheapest option for years. Especially considering there are services now that demand price unbooked hotel rooms for these near motel prices.
