The desktop situation works a lot better if the mouse is on the left and the numpad is on the right. Everything is in balance.

  But 90% of people are right handed and anecdotally all the people I saw using the mouse on the left were left handed.

    I'm left handed, but I use my mouse on the right. A lot of mice are designed for the right hand only, so I got used to it. It's more than 90% of people that this laptop will not work for.

      I switched sides due to RSI issues. Having two mice eased the transition, and since then it’s just been the one on the left.
