- tamimio 3y agoGreat, so now there will be zero accountability once they drone schools and hospitals, just blame it on an AI hallucination.. truly satanic behavior.
- Manuel_D 3y agoAI is not being put in control of weapons systems. Video feeds, satellite imagery, and other sensors are going to be fed into TITAN to identify targets. Manually pouring over drone feeds to pick out vehicles and personnel is a laborious and time consuming task, the goal is to use computers to do this classification more quickly. Humans are still making the decision on whether or not to engage the targets. The responsibility still lies with people.
- tamimio 3y agoI believe that’s just for media consumption, because what you just mentioned is already used in civil missions and typical ISR operations, what’s the big deal now?
- Manuel_D 3y agoThe big deal is a portable system that can go off road, communicate in an much more challenging RF environment. Civil missions usually have the advantage of fixed infrastructure and not having a hostile military trying to jam you and locate you via RDF and shell you.
- morbicer 3y agoAs if there is any accountability without AI. War is war, only way how you can chastise someone is if you are on the opposing side and you win. Which, if there are nukes in the arsenal is never. But yes, Palantir are no knights in white armor.
- jokethrowaway 3y agoGreat to see our taxes being used for good. I wonder how much OSS they will sell to the government to kill strangers they've never seen in a far away country.
