Yes, I have fond memories of the one or two times I heard him as well. One bit I remember from his presentation was his parable of BSD as the building of a road, with Bill Joy (IIRC) hacking a path through the jungle with a machete, someone else driving a bulldozer along that path, somebody pouring asphalt, somebody adding streetlights, and finally somebody (I seem to recall it was Sam Leffler) painting the streetlights.
