Ask HN: Modern Equivalent of Mulberry Harbours
Immediately after D-Day the Allies deployed two artificial harbours in Normandy (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mulberry_harbour).
Now looks like USA are planning to create an artificial port in front of Gaza to help distributing food and medicines to the civilians.
My question: the Mulberry harbours components were built in UK over a period of one year.
How long would it take to create an equivalent structure today?
Is there any information about USA Engineer Corps having something already available for this kind of situations?
