Rivian R2 revealed: a $45,000 electric off-roader for the masses
- cs702 3y agoLooks great on paper, but several things give me pause: * Rivian expects deliveries to start in 2026, two years from now! * Rivian expects the R2 will start at $45K. Usually, starting prices are for vehicles with less range, slower acceleration, etc. * The price for an R2 with max range and acceleration will likely be substantially higher than $45K. * The R2 will be competing against future updated models from Tesla, BYD, etc. in 2026. Rivian is chasing a moving target.
