Show HN: I made an app to create wall art mockups fast
My wife often needs to create image mockups to promote and sell her art, but we wanted something faster than exporting images one by one or using Photoshop, so we built Artadum.
We know there are already websites and apps to create mockups, but we wanted to focus ours on the workflow for it to take just a few seconds:
1. you select your artwork
2. you select one or multiple templates to showcase your artwork
3. you export beautiful images ready for listing your product on platforms like Etsy, or Shopify
It's easy, it's fast, it just works. We removed all distractions and more importantly, we removed the illusion of choice you have in other apps (choosing your frame color, selecting the wall color, moving the frame around...) that is overwhelming and ends up slowing you down.
And my favorite part you ask? The live preview, where you see your artwork almost instantly in dozens of rooms: it is so satisfying to see your art in all these rooms when browsing to select the ones you like.
With hundreds of templates already available, and more added every day, we hope this mockup generator will help artists & photographers showcase or sell their art out there.

- cyrilchandelier 3y agoUgh, that's not good. I'm not able to reproduce the issue in any web browsers right now (I just tried Chrome, Brave, Firefox, Safari, and also on mobile both iOS and Android).
- matteason 3y agoThe mockups themselves are great. The templates look very high quality. It would be great if the frame adapted to the aspect ratio of the uploaded image. At the moment the image is cropped to fill the frame. Even reordering the templates to prioritise those which match (or are closest to) the aspect ratio of the image would be a start, or the ability to filter portrait/landscape/square
- matteason 3y agoOn closer inspection - are the templates AI-generated? There are some odd AI-ish inconsistencies in some of them (a toy elephant with no ears, stools with missing parts, light fitting hanging midair...)
- cyrilchandelier 3y agoI realize I did not mention it, but yes: the templates are AI-generated! There are filters for orientations, but I admit the aspect ratio can be a bit random.
- matteason 3y agoAh I've just found the filters, that's helpful. It's definitely not where I'd expect them to be; top right is where I'd expect sign in etc to live. They might be more discoverable with a text label right above the grid of templates, so they're in close proximity to the thing they're filtering.
