I wonder if articles like this and the candidates they interview are simply focusing on the top tier FAANG level companies, which are going to always be nightmarish. And so we are not getting an accurate picture. From what I know, smaller engineering firms or software shops, maybe in smaller cities, and lower pay, have 2 round interviews and don't always even require coding during the interview.
