Absolutely, neither would I (and yet I use gmail) my intention is to drop this off at github at some point (when I have implemented E2E encryption) and let people host it themselves. It's only a few lines, so it should be rather easy to audit before self-hosting it. I made it mostly for myself (since I have no problem trusting my own server), but thought the concept was neat enough that I'd share the idea.
