Show HN: Easy file exchange between PC and phone
Evening project, small tool to transfer files between two devices without having to log-in to anything, install anything or stash files online for the world to see. Yes, there will be bugs.
- codingdave 3y agoWhile odds are you are telling the truth that nothing is stored, there is still no way I'd ever trust a rando server on the internet to be a middleman to transfer files between my devices.
- dusted 3y agoAbsolutely, neither would I (and yet I use gmail) my intention is to drop this off at github at some point (when I have implemented E2E encryption) and let people host it themselves. It's only a few lines, so it should be rather easy to audit before self-hosting it. I made it mostly for myself (since I have no problem trusting my own server), but thought the concept was neat enough that I'd share the idea.
