The first rule of working with Apple: thou shalt say nothing negative about Apple! I thought the tweet was direct but fair. If Apple is this thin-skinned then perhaps they need to lose a few hundred billion dollars. Best reply to Epic's tweet: "Steve Jobs favored closed over open because he wanted to control his creative vision. Apple today favors closed over open because they want to maximize for extracting rents." I agree completely. Apple is just coasting on the incredible design and vision of Steve Jobs and trying to milk it for all its worth and that cannot last forever. The biggest help to Apple is that their competition is either weak (Microsoft) or not trusted (Google) so they benefit as being default "least bad option" for consumers.
