When a field is hot, I wonder how well employers distinguish between people who are knowledgeable about the field, as opposed to having put the buzzwords on their resume.
- Nasrudith 3y agoI think it depends entirely on how much the screener knows about the field itself. If they are just going off of the "pop culture" they are pretty much doomed to be unable to distinguish the two. If they are deep in the workings of ML themselves then they should be able to tell the difference between "just throwing AI related buzzwords in there" and "actually knows intimate details of how it works". Vexxingly even the competent people may have been trained to seed their resumes with nonsense to get past the uneducated screeners or heavens forbid, automated keyword screeners.
