Because left-right patterns from the US don't properly transfer to pluralist democracies like most in the EU as well as the federal politics. You need more nuance than a black-white view.
- alecco 3y ago> Because left-right patterns from the US don't properly transfer to pluralist democracies like most in the EU Perhaps you should check your own biases. The political spectrum comes from Europe. And I'm not American. [0] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Political_spectrum#Historical_origin_of_the_terms https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Political_spectrum#Historical_... My point stands, this post adds nothing of value. Even as opinion is a very average socialist position we've heard many, many times.
- 7moritz7 3y ago> very average socialist position There is no such thing as an "average left-wing socialist opinion". Socialists can be both right- and left-wing by your superficial spectrum. You are probably talking about Social Democrats, rarely labeled Socialist Democrats. Which is not the same as Socialists.
- alecco 3y agoAgain, it's obvious what I mean by socialists. It's not other groups using the word "socialist" in their name, like some communists (USSR) or national-socialists (Nationalsozialismus). I mean what universally is called "socialism" as a single word. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Socialist_International https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Socialist_International And you argue against my wording but not against my actual points. The post is bland and unoriginal.
