Once again, it’s a literary device; you’re doing the same thing when you call it “doomsaying”. The goal of it is to evoke a certain emotion out of the reader, which is fine in a discussion. Otherwise any conversation would be dry as a doctor’s report for gastric issues.
- Tycho 3y agoThis just isn’t true. Hyperbole isn’t always appropriate just because it has a name and is a “literary device.”

- Tycho 3y agoThe post described being trapped “like dogs” in a hellish state: They will drive us to the absolute edge of torches and pitchforks and keep us there, forever. Hardly an exaggeration to call this doomsaying. You seem very petulant.
