AltStore has been approved for the Alternative App Marketplace entitlement
- infotainment 3y agoApple's per-install fee is definitely bad (and IMO goes against the spirit of the DMA), but it seems like can be made to work for paid/subscription apps. The fact that it is totally unworkable for free apps is presumably meant as a way to screw over Spotify, specifically.
- pests 3y agoI thought there was no fees on free apps?
- david_allison 3y agoTo be eligible [for a fee waiver], you must: * Be a legal entity with a status as a nonprofit organization, accredited educational institution, or government entity; * Not be an individual, sole proprietor, or single-person business; * Not have signed the Paid Applications Agreement (Schedules 2 and 3 of the Developer Program License Agreement) to offer paid apps or in-app purchases through the App Store (or have terminated the Paid Applications Agreement if you signed it previously); and * Not otherwise sell digital goods or services through any of your apps. https://developer.apple.com/support/fee-waiver/ https://developer.apple.com/support/fee-waiver/
- ivanjermakov 3y agoIronic. Proper DMA implementation should've made sideloading apps like AltStore obsolete. Even if AltStore would be available in alternative marketplace, 3-app sideloading limit is not going anywhere.
