I can't find the stats, but if I had to guess, the majority of travelers final destination is within an hour of the airport they land at. I definitely agree with you that all of these aspects of air travel need to be made much more efficient, but inflating these times just paints an inaccurate picture of the travel time benefits that supersonic travel brings.
