- twelvechairs 3y agoIt is mentioned in the article. There are also closer analogues not mentioned in the article. Particularly Dada which Surrealism came from quite directly to the point they can be hard to separate
- bryanrasmussen 3y agoI've always been pretty partial to the explanation that Bosch was an Adamite or member of some other heretical sect - Cathars, etc. But that has not been adopted as historical and critical consensus.
- narag 3y agoObviously, but surrealists were surely influenced by Bosch.
- mikhailfranco 3y agoUnfortunately, I did not see the recent Bosch exhibition in Milan (2022/3). But if you are in Milan, go to see the Bruegels in the Brera - astonishingly impressive - and surely an influence on Bosch.
