- kjhughes 14y agoActually, there can be no authentic liars if everyone's a forced liar. Nor can there be truth, or communication, for that matter.
- forinti 14y agoThis is why I hate the bureaucracy in my country (Brazil). There's a clear penalty for trying to do things the right way (tons of useless and expensive paperwork), and nothing happens to the crooks who take advantage of the system.
- idleloops 14y agoTerry Gilliam's film: Brazil spotlights the absurdity of bureaucracy. Is Brazil renowned for theirs?
- arctangent 14y agoThe film is named after this song: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aquarela_do_Brasil http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aquarela_do_Brasil
- idleloops 14y agoThanks, I somehow totally missed that!
- outworlder 14y agoGranted, one of the reasons why there's so much bureaucracy in this country is precisely the crooks. Society tries to protect itself, goes overboard, ends up with lots of complicated rules that enables the very thing they were trying to stop in the first place.
