> the economy of the virtual world will be much, much bigger than the economy of the physical world. You’re going to have more cars built and designed in virtual worlds, you’ll have more buildings, more roads, more houses — more hats, more bags, more jackets.
- Geste 3y agocan't wait for his 2026 prediction of insert current bubble here
- tivert 3y agoHeh. I'm imagining someone sleeping in their metaverse virtual home, while they're really in a cardboard box under a bridge with a VR headset on.

- bccdee 3y agoI'm so tired of hype cycles in tech, man. LLMs are articulate and knowledgeable but not particularly smart. They can regurgitate Stack Overflow snippets in a context-aware way, and sure, that can be handy in a "code assistant," but it's not enough to build anything on its own. Nothing I've seen suggests real autonomy is anywhere on the horizon. Exponential advancement is always just around the corner, but it never materializes. Little grows exponentially in practice. "AI is the future" isn't a sincere prediction, coming from the mouth of an industry stakeholder. They're just breathlessly hyping their own product.
