Read further. Low context is not "telling it like it is." The U.S. is in the middle on direct-indirect negative feedback and in the middle on confrontational-avoids confrontation. The explanation of the meaning is the article too.
- resolutebat 3y agoMeyer's scale claims that low-context means, and I quote, "Messages are expressed and understood at face value". The TFA goes on to say that "Americans are extremely direct, they say what they think." Which is bullshit. Sorry, I mean that's a great insight and I'd love to double-click on that, but in the interest of time let's take this offline.
